Most people are convinced that Hydrogen is the way forward to reduce emissions in shipping. But how to get there is rather unclear. CMB will present its vision about how hydrogen can be introduced in the demanding maritime environment. The dual-fuel strategy of hydrogen–diesel combustion engines will be presented as a kick-starting solution for low emission vessels. Besides the Hydroville project, an overview of some other projects such as the H2 powered harbour tug, crew transfer vessel (CTV) for the offshore wind parks and a hydrogen-powered passenger ferry for 80 passengers will be given.
