21 November 2019 15:15 - 15:30

Speaker: Wim Stubbe Business Development Manager, Port of Ostend
Co-speakers: Yvon Timmerman

Because of their different scale and activities, small ports require alternative solutions for the transition towards cleaner shipping. Nevertheless, such solutions have the potential for a major impact at a global level. In this session, the port of Oostende highlights its leading role in international collaboration for low-carbon port management. This is illustrated by a practical example of the development and implementation of an energy pontoon combining renewable energy production with storage and provision of freshwater.
